FAQ
Common questions
Short answers. If yours isn’t here, text or email me.
What do you tune?
GM LS & LT and Dodge Hemi, using HP Tuners. I tune remotely anywhere, and in person across the Phoenix valley.
Can you review my current tune for free?
Yes. Send it through the Free Tune Review form. I’ll look it over and tell you honestly if it needs work, or if it’s already solid. No cost, no obligation.
How do I pay?
Message me first so I can confirm your setup, then I’ll send a payment link. Remote tunes are paid before the first file is sent. PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, and Zelle are welcome, and cash works for in-person tunes.
Do you tune aggressively?
No. Street cars get tuned like street cars. I don’t run them lean or add extra timing just to chase a few horsepower. Limits stay reasonable, so the car makes strong power, drives right, and stays reliable. Read the full approach →
What does “dialed in” mean?
We keep going until fueling, timing, and limits behave the way they should on your car. It’s not a one-and-done flash. If a check engine light or related issue shows up right after the tune, revisions are free.
What shape does my car need to be in?
Tuning can’t fix a broken car. No coolant or oil leaks, misfires, or vacuum leaks. Fix mechanical issues first, especially fuel pressure that drops under load.
Do I need to upgrade my fuel pump?
For most builds, no. But if fuel pressure drops under load, that has to be fixed first, because a tune can’t fix it. Put the details in the build form.
What if I flash it and it runs worse?
Don’t panic, and don’t drive it hard. Send me the logs. If a check engine light or issue shows up right after the tune, the revision is free, remote or in person. We’ll sort it out.
“Interface not found”
This is common with HP Tuners. Unplug the USB and plug it back in. If it keeps happening, try another port or cable.
Can flashing brick my ECU?
Not if it’s done right. Use a good, charged battery or a maintainer. Don’t touch anything while it’s writing, and don’t use “write entire” unless I tell you to.
Remote or street — which should I pick?
Outside the valley, or want to log on your own schedule? Go remote. In the Phoenix valley and want me to come to you? Go with street tuning. A good street tune lands very close to a dyno tune. Dyno tuning is available on request. More on Services and The Approach.
